Command Line
On occasion, and particularly with large site that have a lot of media – for example, WooCommerce sites with tens or hundreds of thousands of products, we need use shell commands to carry out backups.
‘Shell’ involved logging into the server host via ssh and using a combination of scp and using rsync or tar/zip commands to copy the media file from one server to another. If none of that makes sense to you, don’t be alarmed; your website developer should be familiar with it, and there are plenty of great tutorials on how to use those tools.
